Finally, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala Endorsed As WTO Director General


Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, an economist and former finance minister of Nigeria, is set to become the first woman and the first person from an African country to lead the World Trade Organization.

United States government led by Joe Biden and Kamala Harris has endorsed Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, former minister of finance, for the office of the director-general of the World Trade Organisation (WTO).

In a post made on Twitter page by Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala which stated thus: “Grateful for the expression of support from the US today for DG @WTO. Congratulations to Madam Yoo of Rep. Korea for a hard fought campaign.Thank You President Muhammadu Buhari @MBuhari &all Nigerians for your unflinching support.Thank you friends. Love to my family.Glory to God.
